Can you imagine Windward O’ahu with massive subdivisions, like those in Kapolei, Mililani, Pearl City? And the traffic? Without Jessica Wooley representing us in the Legislature, without community support, it could happen!
Once our open spaces, our ancient sites, the untouched valleys, our streams, are gone – cut down, paved over, build upon – they are gone forever.
Jessica Wooley is determined not to let that happen. Through her 3 prior terms as our Representative, she stood firm against unrestrained, unwanted development in our 48th district. Families have faith in her uncompromising resolve to “keep country county”! You’ll never meet anyone more impassioned about keeping our home unspoiled for all those who will follow us. After all, it’s her home too.
And let’s not overlook Jessica Wooley’s many accomplishments:
- Graduated with honors in Economics (UC Santa Cruz)
- Has a Master of Science in Agricultural & Resource Economics (UC Berkeley)
- Earned a law degree (UC Berkeley)
- Most importantly, Jessica is a mother of two.
While in the third term as our Representative, Jessica’s excellence did not go unnoticed. The Governor recognized the need for a thoroughly experienced and skilled person to head the Office of Environmental Quality Control and appointed Jessica as Director. Understanding her obligation to accept this responsibility, to serve the entire State of Hawai’i, to tackle some of the State’s most critical environmental, government services and economic/private sector challenges — Jessica Wooley stepped up to do the job … and she did it well!!
Jessica has proven her ability to craft language to solve community problems with bills that become laws; education/communication/collaboration; investment and budgetary changes; even strategies to defeat consumer fraud. She weaves together diverse interests, using myriad tools, to protect natural and public resources, increase incentives and opportunities for small farmers and to make life easier for working families — whatever it takes.
Jessica Wooley carried our voices and concerns to the highest levels of our government. She is ready to do so again.
One undeniable truth about Jessica Wooley: She is a Legislator, not a politician.
